Anand "Andy" Athreya

Biography

 

Anand Athreya “Andy” Serves as Cavirin’s Technical Advisory Board Member. He is the CDO of Juniper Networks, responsible for all of engineering. He also oversees initiatives that are transforming Juniper’s R&D and test environments. Since joining Juniper Networks in 2004, Athreya has held various leadership positions within the Internet and Security Products groups, and most recently served as Vice President of Engineering for the Branch Services Business Unit. Athreya joined Juniper from Procket Networks, where he served as Director of Software Engineering. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Engineering at Malibu Networks, Assistant Vice President of Product Management and Strategy at Tiara Networks, and held management roles at Novell.
Athreya has consistently delivered successful products to market for Juniper customers, including J-Series, Junos Security Software, Branch SRX, MX, PTX, and ACX Systems, and has been instrumental in securing key customer wins around the globe. Athreya holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Bangalore University, a master’s degree in CSE from Osmania University, and an MBA from National University. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and holds several networking-related patents.

Robert D. Rodriguez is the Chairman & Founder of SINET (www.security-innovation.org). Since 2005 Robert has advised and coordinated the public-private sector outreach for DHS S&T, SRI International, Stanford University, United Kingdom Government; Cabinet, Home and Cybersecurity, Digital Communications and Economy Unit, Australian Government DATA 61 & AustCyber, UNC- Charlotte, The Department of Defense, United States Postal Service and participated as a member of the US Air Force Cybersecurity Advisory Board. He has been called upon numerous times by private industry and the Federal Government to help advise and build private sector outreach initiatives with corporations, the entrepreneurial and venture capital communities. Previously, Robert served 22 years as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service where he held a number of executive leadership positions within the Presidential Protection, Protective Intelligence, Inspection and Criminal Investigation Divisions and the Counter Assault Team. His executive protection experience spanned 10 years at the White House serving Presidents Ronald W. Reagan, George H. Bush, William J. Clinton and numerous Heads of State. He sits on numerous Cybersecurity Advisory Boards, is a Venture Partner with SineWave Ventures, serves as Director Emeritus for the San Francisco Foster Farms Bowl, Standard Governing Board for Digital Rights Management (xDTM) and is a certified graduate of the Federal Government’s Senior Executive Service Program.

He has developed programs and strategies for various high-tech organizations including business cloud enablement, cybersecurity, customer success management platform and software providers. His goal is to shape policies, standards, processes and controls that enable secure, compliant operations.  Ray was previously CISO at 
Atmosera Inc., driving operational security and risk initiatives to fortify the company’s security posture and optimize security services for customers. Notably, he cut security threat alerts by 70% and expanded the security monitoring framework to include a true log aggregation and enhanced security monitoring platform. Dr. Taher Elgamal is an internationally respected information security leader and cryptographer. He was the recipient of the lifetime achievement award from the RSA conference in 2009. He has successfully served as a CISO, Chief Scientist, CTO, as well as a founder and CEO of numerous key organizations. Dr. Elgamal invented several industry and government standards in data security and digital signatures for areas including the DSS government standard for digital signatures. He is recognized in the industry as the "father" of SSL.

Previously, he established and operated an enterprise risk and information security program for a multi-national, publicly traded product manufacturer with wholesale, retail, and e-commerce operations. Nirav earned his Bachelor degree at the University of Alabama Birmingham, his MBA from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, and a Master degree in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
